Texas House District 13: Albert Hunter vs. Angelia Orr 

We evaluate candidates for the Texas Legislature based on 3 criteria:

  • We are looking for candidates who will support fully funding public schools.
  • We are looking for candidates who will vote NO on school vouchers.
  • We are looking for candidates who are focused on the real concerns facing public schools, not spreading harmful, unfounded narratives that undermine trust.

 

Texas House District 13 represents most of East Waco and several surrounding counties.  The candidates running for the seat are Albert Hunter and Angelia Orr.  Orr is the incumbent.

Which candidate seems better for public schools?

Funding

Both candidates say they would support better funding for public schools.

No difference

Vouchers

Hunter says he would vote NO on vouchers. Orr is endorsed by Greg Abbott, so she will probably vote YES on vouchers.

Real Concerns vs. Scare Tactics

Hunter is a retired math teacher.  He has first-hand experience of the real concerns facing public schools.  Orr’s website refers to, “Radical leftist ideologies seeking to indoctrinate our children.”
